Join us for a special UBC Aumni night at the San Francisco Opera for the production of Moby-Dick, featuring Canadian tenor Ben Heppner, BMus'79, LLD'97.
Your ticket includes an orchestra ring seat and a private pre-performance cocktail reception and UBC alumni mingler with a short talk from Professor Emeritus Dr. Paul Stanwood with insights on this exciting new opera. Based on the famous novel by Herman Melville (1851), Moby-Dick; or, The Whale tells the compelling and tragic story of the strangely heroic Ahab, whose obsessive search for the great white whale leads to terrifying and general disaster. Jake Heggie's stunning opera, composed to a libretto by Gene Scheer, faithfully reflects Melville's powerful and epic work.
This event is presented in partnership with the UBC Faculty of Arts.
